I'm beside myself with geeky joy. My PS3 console is one of the originals (although updated to latest firmware). Assuming I can downgrade to CFW 3.55 to extract my key, this will be SO sweet... How far off is a release? Beta testers needed? 8 }

Just read about it on another site. Cant wait to get my hands on this :dance:

Some people need to learn to read. Most are just dismissing this thinking its just another generic usb dongle. How wrong are they :lol:

I actually cant wait to test it out. Well done :clap:

I see that they are using 3.0, which is awesome because I have 3.0 externals - load times would be crazy fast. Proud owner of Xkey for slim and I couldn't be happer (well, I could be if key was easier to extract).

Craig - sounds like you know more about it. If it's not a USB dongle - how does it work?

Right.... ?? So you are just saying that most people think it's a USB dongle and nothing else (nothing to install in console) - which, I agree, is a misconception. Ok, I'm pickin up what you're puttin down now.

Is there an expected release date??? I have credit card in my hand!! I need answers people!!!!

**EDIT: Just read that they are expecting an end of the year release.

Drivium, As much as I would like to I have no inside knowledge of this product. I am just going by what I have read about it and what we know about the Xkey for the 360

I think its pretty safe to assume that it works in much the same way. Ie it is an internal device which sits between the drive. Which then of course via the use of your drive key (Extracted via a homebrew app installed on v3.55) emulates your drive to allow loading via USB. What will be interesting is to see if the app which extracts the key will be able to be run on the rumored upcoming v4.21 CFW from red power team.

But yes instead of taking the time to research most people are thinking its just another DRM dongle which it is not. They have no purpose and do nothing but harm the scene as their solutions could easily been implemented for free (which they now have been).
